Twitch star Kai Cenat gave fans a long-awaited update on his whereabouts, opening up about his mental health and future projects in an unexpected video.

Kai Cenat is one of the most popular streamers in the world, known for his high-energy gaming marathons and celebrity guests like Nicki Minaj, Kevin Hart, John Cena, and more.

In fact, he was the single most-watched Twitch streamer in the entire world as of December 2025, beating out other broadcasters by almost double their viewership.

Cenat’s last stream was his record-breaking Mafiathon 3 event, which lasted for the entire month of September and followed the broadcaster around 24/7. He notably declared that it would be his final marathon of the sort, explaining that he wanted to shift his focus to bigger projects and build a lasting legacy for himself.

Instagram: kc3hidd3nKai Cenat, the world’s most-watched Twitch streamer, explained his absence from the internet in an unexpected, heartfelt video months after his final Mafiathon broadcast.

He’s been mostly silent on social media since Mafiathon 3 ended on October 1, 2025, making occasional appearances in public in the months since then… but on December 16, he finally broke his silence with a heartfelt video.

Kai Cenat hints at a big new direction after vanishing from Twitch

Kai published the video to X, where he opened up about the state of his mental health as he works on other, as-yet unannounced projects.

In his video, Kai explained that he’s been suffering from a kind of impostor syndrome, saying he’s been “in his head” because he wants to branch out from streaming to create new things.

“Honestly, for the past few months, I’ve been struggling with mental health out of self-doubt and fright of pursuing goals that I really want to achieve,” he said. “The reason I’ve really been in my head is because I just want to do more.

“I’ve [come] to realize that I’m a true creator and I’m very passionate about creating. I have other goals and things I want to achieve and do more of. I would love to show you guys what I’ve been working on for the past few months.”

He encouraged fans to follow his alternative Instagram account, which he claimed he would set to ‘private’ in short order, saying he’ll be posting updates on this mysterious new direction his life is taking.

“…I just wanted to let you guys know that sometimes it’s important to take care of your mental health. Honestly, it’s been getting better. It has. But out of frustration and fear, I’ve just been in my head for some reason. I never had this feeling before,” he continued.

“I want it to be known that I truly want to create. I don’t know if I’m getting mature… I’m just looking at things with a broad point of view. I am so passionate about creating in general, and I’m excited to show you guys what’s going on.”

That’s not all; he made an additional statement on the Instagram stories for his alternative account, where he confirmed he’d be giving fans a look into his “personal” life.

“Everyone who is in pursuit of dreams and goals, let’s come together and really have tunnel vision for the future,” he wrote. “…I’m here with you.”

Kai Cenat has made several other projects outside of his regular streams, most notably starring in a short film titled ‘Global Pursuit’ in 2023. Actor and comedian Kevin Hart even admitted that he’d want the streamer to portray his younger self in a future movie.

Kai’s video comes just days after his latest public appearance at the 2025 Streamer Awards, where he took home the honors for Best Just Chatting Streamer, Best Streamed Collab, and Best Marathon Stream.
