(KNSI) – A program helping St. Cloud Area School District 742 families close the hunger gap is seeking assistance on Give to the Max Day.

The Feeding 742 Kids initiative is a drive-up distribution network providing prepackaged food boxes, gallons of milk, bread and produce. The packages are available at Talahi Community School on Tuesdays and Madison Elementary School on Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. through the end of the year. The district is also offering food boxes at elementary conference nights and at school site pantries.

A press release from the district says, “We know when families face food insecurity it can make learning and attending school harder.”

The district, Local Education and Activities Foundation 742 (LEAF), and Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf of the Diocese of St. Cloud have teamed up to offer the program.

Donations made on Thursday, November 20th, called Give to the Max Day, will make a bigger impact. The event offers opportunities to help community organizations statewide through matching gifts and power hour prizes, which make contributions go further.

The day dedicated to donating in Minnesota provides crucial support to nonprofits as they face rising costs and increased demand for services. Donations help fund essential programs and services, including food security, mental health, education, and homelessness prevention.
