Mangaluru: The three-day 29th National Conference of the Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry will be held from Nov 28. It will be hosted by the Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS) Mangaluru. This year’s conference is themed ‘Optimal Oral Health: Policy Meets Prevention,’ highlighting the critical intersection of preventive oral health strategies and policy frameworks on both national and global levels.Preceding the main conference, nine pre-conference workshops will be conducted on Nov 27, across three prominent venues: MCODS Mangaluru, Yenepoya Dental College, and AJ Institute of Dental Sciences. These workshops promise to deliver comprehensive hands-on training and expert-led sessions, facilitated by a distinguished panel of 21 nationally recognised speakers. The workshops will cover a wide array of topics in public health dentistry, policy, prevention, and professional skill enhancement, said organisers.The conference will officially commence with an inaugural ceremony on Nov 28. Chief guest Dr Sanghamitra Pati, additional director general of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, will inaugurate. The ceremony will also be attended by guests of honour Dr Sharath Rao, pro vice-chancellor (health sciences), MAHE, and Dr Dilip G Naik, pro vice-chancellor (Mangaluru campus), MAHE.Spanning three days, the conference will include the prestigious Dr Mohandas Bhat Oration, four keynote lectures, panel discussions, scientific presentations, award ceremonies, and a dynamic trade exhibition showcasing the latest advancements in dental and public health technologies. This year’s event is expected to attract over 675 delegates from across India, along with international participants, marking it as one of the largest and most diverse gatherings in the field of public health dentistry.
