“Within our practice, we have fostered a diverse team of clinicians, each specializing in different areas, which ensures we can effectively meet a wide array of mental health needs and serve diverse populations within the community,” Newman wrote in an email.
Within the practice, some clinicians specialize in a wide range of therapeutic strategies like EMDR, art therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. They also have counselors who specialize in different areas, such as the LGBTQ+ community, ADHD, and pre- and postnatal care. Trauma-specific counseling is also available for cases of religious, sexual, medical, military, and childhood abuse, as well as physical abuse and domestic violence.
Haynam explained one of the aspects of Artisan that she likes to highlight is their clinicians are encouraged to collaborate and consult with each other.
“Seeing our team connect on both personal and professional levels is incredibly rewarding,” Newman wrote. “The break room is a perfect example: we often see clinicians having lunch together, sharing aspects of their lives, or engaging in collaborative case consultations. This internal synergy, these strong peer relationships and the vibrant energy, is truly exciting and fosters a highly supportive environment for both our staff and clients.”
While Newman said his goal as a mental health professional is always to provide a safe space where clients are supported, one of the goals of Artisan is to support the mental health space as a whole.
“We are seeing significant demand across the board for individual, couples, and family counseling,” he wrote. “While we hope people choose our practice, Artisan Counseling, we recognize there are other exceptional community practices doing great work. Ultimately, our biggest advocacy goal isn’t just about us; it’s about breaking down barriers and helping more people access mental health counseling wherever they feel most comfortable.”
He added that, with a shortage of mental health professionals, rather than competition between practices, they tend to work together to ensure they provide the best care to as many people as possible.
